Red Gerbera

The red panda

The red panda is an animal that everyone gives attention to, so when the panda attempts on defending themselves while threatened , it is brushed off as cute. When it just wants to be left alone without humans surrounding them. This is the reason why  I  choose this animal. To bring awareness of the habit loss and human interaction that is greatly affecting them. The red panda is a very adorable animal. An animal that was not meant to be looked and admired like a zoo. They mostly live in Nepal, India, Bhutan, Myanmar and China with close to water sources and in densely bamboo covered areas.

While drawing this animal i had to have 3 color pallets. Cool, warm, and one hue. I choose blue as the cool color beucae it is a easy color to work with. The warm color is orange/yellowish. I would admit that warm colors is hard for me to work with so i tired to keep it smiply. My one color hue is purple with lighter shades of the same hue. For form I tired to overlap some of the details in order to make it look less flat. I also tired to put stuff around it to give it more of a form. Then i used rectangles as shapes for the bamboo and triangles for the ears. After I was done with al l the details that i wanted on my drawing i added smooth texture on the panda and rough texture of everything less to make sure the panda is soft looking then the bambo  which you can see in the right. Different shades are meant to be the value. Which gives an example on were the light should be or what kind of angle it is laying in. Lastly I added a square for the negative space in my picture.

Some pictures don't have a lot of texture. Also how i missed up in the lower body part making the panda look flat is one thing i want people who look at my picture to notice. Something i would of done differently though is my color shades choices. I regret some of them beucae i could of done better. in the future i would liked to know more of how i can put form due to how good it looks in some areas and others not.
